Level 1 :
This class is for the beginning dance student. Basic movements will be taught as well as combinations of these movements and traveling variations of the movements. History and education of Middle Eastern dance will also be covered in class.


Level 2 :
Students must have completed Level 1 class to enter Level 2. Students will expand their knowledge of basic movements and learn different variations. They will also learn a variety of new movements to add to their repertoire. Fun dance combinations will be taught as well as combining movements with basic footwork and arms. Finger cymbals (zils) will be introduced. Veil dance will be introduced.


Level 3 :
Students must complete level 1 & 2 to enter this class level. Technique is the focus of this class with weekly drills to build stamina and beginning to layer movements. Students learn more complex footwork and dance combinations. Finger cymbals will be used every week. Various dance props will be introduced. Improv at the end of each class.


Level 4 :
Crisp technique will be a focus of this class as well as learning advanced level dance movements, complex combinations, layering and drills for strengths, as well as zils. Improv at the end of each class.


Choreography :
This is a one hour class. The focus of this class is to learn a choereography, a routine you can use to perform or to just practice on your own personal workout & to expand your dance knowledge of how to pull all the elements together. This class is appropriate for Level 2 &3 student. Music and notes included.


Advanced Choreography :
A choreography will be taught in this class using more advanced skills and complex combinations. Appropriate for the level 3& 4 student. Music and notes included.


Tribal Bellydance :
Tribal/fusion is one of the most popular bellydance styles today. The Blue Lotus is lucky to have one of the best tribal dancers in Minnesota to teach this class. This is a mixed level class. Stdents can be anywhere from level 2 to level 4.


Zumba :
This is a fabulous high energy dance fitness class using a variety of dance styles including latin dance moves for a good cardio workout.


Hafla :
The Hafla is a student party at teh end of each session that will take place at teh studio or restaurant. Students can invite family and friends to watch them perform to show off what they've learned in classes.
